Joseph & the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat – Parent Meeting Notes Jan 21, 2016

Joseph & the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat – Parent Meeting
Jan. 21, 2016
I.    Description of Play and Children’s Chorus
II.    Casts and Requests
Because we had so many talented children audition and we want to give as many children as possible this opportunity, we will have two casts for the show.  Each cast will perform in four shows.  Siblings will automatically be assigned to the same cast.  In addition, you may request to be in the same cast as ONE friend.  This friend must also request you as their one friend request in order to be considered.  Please email cast requests to Amy Lundquist at send2amyl@gmail.com by Monday, Feb. 1st.  All requests submitted by that date will be honored to the extent possible.  No cast requests will be taken after February 1st.
III.    Calendar
Rehearsals will be held Wednesdays and Fridays from 4:00-5:30 p.m.  There will also be additional Saturday rehearsals twice in March and in April (see details below).  Please be prompt dropping off and picking up your children.  Rehearsals will start and end right on time.  We will occasionally rehearse in the Orchestra Room.  If that is the case, I will place a note on the drama room door.
Costume Check – Wednesday, March 30th at rehearsal
Dress Rehearsals – Friday, April 15th and Monday, April 18th.  Both casts will come on both days (possibly at different times).  Dress rehearsals are mandatory.
Performances – April 20-26th with a daytime matinee for local schools on the 19th.
IV.      Costumes
Costumes are delightfully simple for the children’s chorus.  Your child will receive a colored t-shirt.  You will provide khaki colored shorts or pants and tennis shoes.  Socks can be either the same color as your child’s shirt or a neutral color (preferably tan).
V.     Communications
Email - All cast communications will be sent via email.  It is critically important that you read the weekly email update to stay informed with schedule changes, etc.  If you did not receive the first email sent last night, please stay after this meeting for a few minutes and check to be sure we have your correct email address.
Blog – In addition, important information such as rehearsal schedules will also be posted on the drama blog site.  lpdrama.blogspot.com.  Please check it whenever you’re looking for necessary information.  If newer information has replaced what was previously posted, check the archives list on the right side of the screen.
VI.      Before you leave tonight, please do the following:
  • Turn in your Code of Conduct form
  • Turn in your $15 per child participation fee
  • Check the cast list to make sure your child’s name is spelled the way he/she would like it printed on the program and that all of your information is correct
You may always contact Amy Lundquist at send2amyl@gmail.com or 756-1811 with any questions.  We look forward to working with you on this exciting musical adventure!
